Hi, I'm a newbie and i would like to know is there any difference between PCI Express graphic cards and AGP graphic cards. Or are they both the same?

The biggest difference is the speed (and thus bandwidth) of the bus. PCI Express having the better bandwidth.

Well, its true that PCI-E has higher bandwidth (x16) and this is crucial when running multi GPU setup such as SLI or CrossFire.

Nevertheless, tests show that running the same graphics card (6600GT) on AGP8X or PCI-E x16 gives about the same results.

The next good thing about PCI-E is that you'll have more options to choose from...there are many PCI-E graphics cards in the market but only a few AGP8X to choose from, especially from mid-range to high-end VGA.
