Nice try..... keep guessing.....

Btw, Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro will fit on socket AM2 easily. In fact, most CPU coolers with stock AMD s939 retention bracket will fit on socket AM2, including the stock AMD s939 (Venice) CPU cooler.

Yeah. But those using the two mounting screws on the S939 cannot use this anymore.
The mounting positions of the four holes are different from all current 4 hole mountings, including those on the LGA775, S478, Xeon S603/604, S462.

Yes... thats why I said "stock retention bracket".
Looks like w/c manufacturers need to come out with a new mounting plate and back plate.

Yes, SATA-out...
And there's another SATA header behind that PS2 mouse&keyboard connectors too.

I'm currently benching with this mobo and the mobo chipset gets kinda hot. Using an external temp. sensor (on the chipset heatsink), I get readings up to 60șC!

I guess I have to install that blower fan even when running air cooled...

Will keep you guys updated.

After u mentioned that I just realised that this motherboard's heatsink was definately designed for aircooling. The heatpipe heatsinks were positioned to take advantage of the heatsink fan's airflow. If we were to use water cooling, it would render the heatpipe cooler's ineffective.

Yup... the cooling on the mobo largely depends on the CPU cooler. Nevertheless, a small blower fan is included with the mobo if you plan to water cool the CPU.

IMO, the best cooler for this mobo will be an uni-directional cooler where the fan blows air through the heatsink on all direction.

A few major mobo manufacturers have moved to heatpipe cooling on their mobos and there will be more... Let's see if the next LAN Party nForce 590 SLI mobo comes with heatpipe cooling or not.
