Hi guys thanks for reading my thread, im currently thinking of going dual boot on system since im running win xp pro and have a copy of win xp x64 bit im and thinking of going dual boot, and im thinking of all possible senarios as to how do i set up my dual boot system

would like to know from those whom are currently running dual boot systems:

1. Definately need another partition for second o/s ? better to have it on another Hdd right?
2. i have to reinstall all x64bit mobo and video card drivers on my 2nd o/s ??
3. what about my current win xp pro installed games on a separate Hdd? when i install the second o/s do i need another partition just for my programs and games to run x64bit or is it wise to "share" Hdd between the different o/s ?

Are there more pros than cons when it comes to having a second o/s ? i reckon most ppl who run x64 bit o/s tend to take advantage of x64bit applications ?

Yes, you surely need another partition for second O/S. I don't think you can install two O/S in the same partition because new installation will overwrite the current O/S.
It maybe better go have another HDD for a dedicated O/S but I'm having no problem running multiple O/S (up to 4 O/S) on a single 80GB HDD!

If your 2nd O/S is x64bit, yes... you need to install those 64bit drivers on the x64bit O/S. FYI, 64bit driver will work in 64bit O/S only. So you need 32bit drivers for the 32bit O/S.

Yes, you can share HDD between different O/S but if you got extra HDD, its always better to seperate them. If you don't have extra HDD, the best way is to partition the HDD to install prog/games dedicated for x64bit.

Well, having multiple O/S depends on what you do with it. If you have 64bit applications that you must use to get a job done, then x64bit is a must. Otherwise, installing x64bit just for the fun of it will waste valueable HDD space

just going with the 36gb one and in fact its my secondary o/s just wanna have a little fun with it might even use my old IDE IBM deskstar to try out first see how it goes
