so, which one do you like? DDR or DDR2? DDR performs slightly better than DDR2 in some areas, so i'd go with DDR.
Btw, anyone willing to sell any 2nd-hand 512mb DDR2 ram sticks? One of my sticks just snapped, and the warranty has expired. Trying to look for a cheap one right now.

DDR1 is good but DDR2 is getting better by the day.
Besides by the end of this year, DDR1 will be obsolete.
Your RAM snapped? I thought all RAMs have lifetime warranty?
If you want some cheap DDR2 sticks, try browsing through LYN forums.

Yes... the best chipset for DDR2 is currently Micron D9.
I've seen a few Kingston Value RAM DDR2-800 carry these Micron D9 chipset. So start hunting for it!
Elpida is not bad either and could overclock up to DDR-1000 at 2.3V only.

well, crap. Prices for a 512MB DDR2 stick have just gone up. Now i really can't afford one.
Anyone willing to sell a 512MB DDR2 stick to me? There's no way in hell i'm going to rake up RM240 for one of them, since i don't have a part-time job right now.

There's a guy from Penang over at lowyat.net selling Micron D9 512MB DDR2 800 for only RM120/- per piece. It's used, but at that price it's unbelievable.
A lot of people already bought from him, so you might be too late even if you are interested because I suspect he might have run out of stock due to popular demand.

Just buy 2 pcs Micron at RM240/- and sell off your single Apacer for RM200/-.
