Recently, Dell has announced the cheapest 20" wide screen LCD into the market and it is currently price at RM1049 only. Plus, you'll get 3 years warranty and their warranty policy is quite impressive. I'm talking about 1-to-1 swap here... simply call them and you will get your replacement LCD. Also, I was told that you can top-up another RM39 to extend the warranty to 4-years.

The E207WFP is a stripped down version of the slightly expensive 2007WFP which cost about RM300 more. Although the E207WFP is rated at 5ms response time, keep in mind that it uses entry level TN (Twisted Nematic) panel. TN panel is the oldest technology in LCD manufacturing that is cheaper to produce thus lower cost. Therefore, UltraSharp is not featured with the E207WFP. The E207WFP also does not support height adjusting or portrait mode. Available input is limited to analog and DVI only. To be short, the E207WFP is a great monitor for gaming, provided you sit right in front of the monitor. This is because the viewing angle is limited to 160º only. Any higher will result in colour saturation and you will experience the “film negative” effect tongue.gif

Unlike the 2007WFP which uses superior quality S-IPS (Super In-plane Switching) panel that produces vibrant colours. It also comes with Dell's UltraSharp feature. The viewing angle is also wider on the 2007WFP as the viewable area is up to 178º. The 2007WFP has more inputs including analog, DVI, S-Video, composite and 4 USB2.0 ports.

Anyways, I was trying to get the E207WFP for reviews and apparently, Dell refuses to give any sort of discount of coupon sad.gif
So I received a call from their sales rep and they worked me through the process. Just about 30 mins ago, my order was confirmed and the details were sent to my email. Everything went smooth until they informed me that I had to wait 5-7 working days to receive the goods. In other words, that’s about 1 to 2 week. Until we get the monitor in our hands, I'm going hold my words.

Tell us what you feel about this monitor.

Ok.. I'm starting to get frustrated now... Waiting for almost one week for a LCD to arrive is quite long. Why can't they just ship it between 2-3 days??
Heck, Penang is just 2 hours away from Ipoh!
I hope this 5-7 days shipping term is only for Malaysians. If Dell does this in the States, its gonna be BAD.

Edit: Just noticed that the price for E207WFP went back to RM1,499!

Sigh... I just checked the online Order Status and now the Estimated Delivery Date shows 22-Nov-2006!
I'm sure I had checked it two days ago and it stated 17-Nov-2006.
For the record, the order date was on 10-Nov-2006. So much for 5-7 days delivery.. meh!
What's wrong with DELL Malaysia??! mad.gif

Anyways, I called my sales rep up and she told me that my LCD was already shipped out. "It's already on the way", she said. Now I'm waiting for DELL to call me up.

Update: They just called me up and told me that the "courier service" in Ipoh will call me up tomorrow to make an appoinment. I also asked what caused the delay and they told me that they have just upgraded their logistics system and normally things will go haywire. I insisted that I must receive my LCD by tomorrow, but they said they will try their best to deliver it by tomorrow. If not by Friday, they will try to make it on Saturday or latest by Monday.

This is just the begining? Means there will be worst things to come? Man... If the LCD isn't up to my expectations, I will totally never buy anything from DELL anymore.
This was my first time with DELL and already I'm getting such "treatment". I hope their product is not as bad as their service!

I went with Dell because it comes with 3-years on site warranty wink.gif
Their RMA process is way faster than anything else in Malaysia.
Plus, Dell's price was inclusive of shipping to your doorstep.
Will upload some pics later. Cheers~
