ive noticed that u use ur machine for mov, game, music...
seems like u built up the machine in a budget. ok, the vista has comes, and u surely wanted to install and played games in vista. so, u need to setup ur system that required by vista.

1) try to get 1mb cache of cpu.
2) 1gb is not optional and it will gives lagging in vista. 2gb is the minimum.
3) 8500/8600 has just arrived and u should think twice not to use the older gc. in addition, 8xxx series come in dx10, which is more better in vista.

try to check in other websites for vista requirement.

IMHO.. ur machine is oledi in good performance stage as u only use for mov, light games n music.. but seriously.. if i were u.. i wud upgrade the RAM + GC..

u dun need a 1MB cache mem if u were using AMD.. the level of cache n strutc. of cache of an AMD is different from intel.. so with a 512KB of cache on AMD.. is enuff..

i m using the same proc as u.. running vista.. everythin is so smooth..

Read from a review that "Galaxy" 8600GT/GTS is one of the best... biggrin.gif

well it also depend on the manufacturer whether to include sumthin "special" o not in the core for ezy tweaking..

i recommend u Galaxy due to their cheap/high-performence/pre-oc. Galaxy released 2 version in 8600GT series that were 8600GT itself and 8600GE. 8600GE (Galaxy Edition) has super-oced and its really superb. if u want something else in high-performance, try XFX in XXX editon that is much more expensive than Galaxy
